About

The role of values and norms in the response to the European refugee crisis.

Project Outcomes

Forced migration to Europe has not led to a change in values.
– At the same time, pre-existing differences in the understanding of values between EU member states and at the national level have become more apparent.
– Debates on the foundations of the EU should take a rights-based democratic perspective. This perspective acknowledges different interpretations of values and norms around migration.
