About

Innovative methods to measure irregular migration and regularisation processes.

Project Outcomes

  • Local-level indicators can help policymakers and other stakeholders overcome some of the limitations of national estimates of irregular migration.
  • At the same time, local-level estimates of irregular migration may pose ethical issues in how they are used and for which purpose.
  • It is important to consider the ethical dimensions of addressing irregular migration, including efforts to quantify this phenomenon. These considerations need to be grounded in appropriate ethical standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ethical benchmarking provides useful tools to assess the ethical implications of measuring irregular migration.
