Providing evidence on the effectiveness, innovation, transferability, sustainability and evaluation of integration policies and practice.

Project Outcomes

  • SPRING developed an online community network to help collaboration among integration researchers, think tanks, and other practitioners across the region. 
  • SPRING developed and applied a Validation Grid to identify 43 practices and 24 collections of EU-wide integration practices that are deemed ‘good’ by integration practitioners, stakeholders, and policymakers. It also developed a Good Practice Adaptation Toolkit that aimed to assess the emergence and transfer of practices within countries and across borders.
  • The different practitioners identified the following problems with their work integrating migrants: a lack of support, and the stop-start nature of projects due to intermittent funding.

  • Evidence repository – Provides practitioners with easy access to a practical summary of research on integration policy practices.
  • Toolkit – Offers resources and tools to policymakers and practitioners to develop better integration policies.
  • Handbook – A resource for practitioners on the integration of newly arrived migrants in Europe.
  • Database – Exemplary practices of successful integration strategies.
  • Grid – validation grid with a set of criteria for sustainable and successful practices. 
  • Evaluation tool to examine different aspects of migrant integration practices to assess their quality.
